Excellent location in the heart of the city. Though this is located right next to the tram, the hotel location is so central we were able to walk to everywhere we needed. Breakfast buffet was great with plenty of options, restaurant, front desk, and housekeeping service was excellent, professional, and attentive. We stayed in a balcony view room, which despite previous reviews, we felt was not nosy at all from the street (all balcony rooms are on the 4th floor, well above street level). The only feedback I have is there is low lighting in the bathroom and the room doesn't have much floor space if you have a lot of luggage. Wasn't an issue for us either way, we will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was wonderful. It’s in a great location near tourist shops, the Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. Breakfast was a good mix of breads, cheeses, fruits, veggies, and eggs. The room was comfortable and had a nice view of the busy street below. The staff were also welcoming and friendly. Oh, and if you eat at the restaurant for dinner (with a 20% discount) you MUST order the hummus. It was SO good. My only con is that the tram is pretty loud at night, so if you’re a light sleeper, you may want to bring some ear plugs.

I’ve had a very wonderful experience with Faros Hotel Old City. Our group was 27 people. We took 12 days Mediterranean cruise. Our last stop was Galata Port in Istanbul. We booked 12 rooms at Faros Hotel for 2 nights, size from standard double to family room. Everyone in our group was pleased with the stay at Faros Hotel and thanked me for discovering it At the beginning, the staff (Jacob) came to greet us at the cruise terminal (part of the hotel service) , took us back to the hotel and we were greeted with even more friendly staff from reception as well as the hotel’s restaurant. Everyone communicated well in English and that was an A+ for poor communicator like me. Along with the well established local area, it was a pleasant surprise. Our stay was extremely comfortable, clean room, well appointed, great view. Along with the included breakfast package, the all-day complimentary gourmet coffee for the connoisseur, the hotel staff served us well every time we saw them. And then, my husband accidentally left his wallet in the safe upon checking out to travel back to the US. We got a message from them some 10 hrs later between our flights home about his wallet. Then they took the time to mail the wallet to us in certified mail. Needless to say, this was way more than the “extra mile” that anyone could ask for. If there is a scale from 0 to 10, Faros Hotel and its staff deserves a good round of 10 by my standards. Kudos to Faros Hotel staff. I highly recommend this establishment.

For people who live in Europe, I can assure you that this is nothing more than a 2-star hotel. There was hair on the toilet floor the first day we checked in. In terms of cleanliness I would rate it 4 of 10. The breakfast is very limited.

This hotel is not fancy, but it worked well for us because the staff were so attentive to our every need. Nothing we asked for was too much for them. They happily fulfilled our every need. Jakob and Murat at reception were the main reason that our stay was so nice. Very happy and always willing to help with a big smile. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and a very nice shower. We also ate twice in the restaurant and enjoyed the food very much. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good place to stay.
